Welcome The Book Nuts fans

I welcome those who answered The Book Nuts posting. Thank you, The Book Nuts. I love your FB page and encourage others to LIKE it (https://www.facebook.com/TheBookNuts).

I finally turned my completed manuscript over to someone to edit. Researching agents and publishers is my new overwhelming task. Any advice from experts is welcome.

Jesse’s baby brother, AJ, makes an appearance in this novel. His story, HIS Choice, is next, and I’m excited about writing it. He makes me go “Ooh La La”.

Here’s a teaser from one of my favorite scenes in HIS Desire (An H.I.S. Novel):
He sensed movement near him. Was it the cleanup team? How long had he been out?
He opened eyes enough to peek out. He moved with lightning speed, his left hand encircled a small ankle, his right hand pointed his Beretta at the interloper. Megan. Son of a bitch.
“What the hell are you doing here?” he ground out.

I have no idea who these people are, but this is how I picture Jesse and Megan.

Have a great week!

Series named and review posted

I hope everyone was safe and warm during the last storm. Let me know when you finally shovel out.

For the first timers, the 25 or less words overview for H.I.S. Desire (previously named Exclusive) is: Jesse Hamilton and Megan Roger’s lives collide as they hunt an elusive crime boss who had her brother murdered and ordered their deaths.

Many of you know that I have struggled deciding on a series name. After brainstorming with Kelly R., I realized that with the changes, the name was right there. Jesse and some of his brothers’ own Hamilton Investigation and Security. So the H.I.S. series was born. The first book in the series, Jesse’s story, has been renamed H.I.S. Desire (A H.I.S. Novel). The series includes the five Hamilton brothers, one foster brother and one sister. There are only six books, so I’ll let you figure that math on your own.

Kelly’s review for H.I.S. Desire (A H.I.S. Novel) is in. She wrote two reviews for me since FB and I fought over sharing. FB won. Here is one of the reviews.
I was asked to review the first story of the H.I.S. series....and I have to say WOW! Great story, good suspense and some hot and steamy scenes! Can't wait to see this in print my friend!
In her other review, she gave it “two snaps up and circle around”. I smiled because that sounded pretty good to me.

All that’s left before I start the process of searching for a publisher is to finish editing. Autocorrect and I have been at odds these past few days. It had autocorrected words that I scratch my head at, wondering what I meant to say the first time.

I’m looking for more FB followers. I’d appreciate it if you would share my page with your friends/family.

Have a wonderful week. See you next Sunday.

Two early reviews are in!

I am too excited to wait until Sunday to post.

I finished the initial draft and have received two positive reviews from avid romance readers! I want to thank them for their time and feedback. Some of their great suggestions have already been incorporated.

We had snow again in Mississippi. It was beautiful, very picturesque. After living in Baltimore, it’s amazing how one inch of snow can bring a town to a standstill.

I promised to tell you how Megan and Jesse meet. They bump into each other, literally, on the street. An excerpt from their second meeting is below.

An excerpt from Exclusive:
“Megan, you’ve got to back off. I was sent to give you a message. I don’t want to have to come back and deliver the punishment. You were lucky they only wanted to give you a verbal warning.”
“I’ve already received a death threat this week. Unless you can top that, you are wasting your time.” Please don’t let him hurt me. “Now, if there is nothing else, I’ll show you out the door.” She dropped her arms and walked toward the door.
Megan gasped when Jesse pulled her against his rock-hard body and kissed her before she could protest. She had never been kissed like this before. That was her excuse for not pushing him away, for kissing him back, for putting her arms around his neck.

I must go and check the food bowl for the stray cats. I caught Blue-jays eating it. Actually, they picked through the bowl and ate only one of the flavors. I hope the cats aren't as picky.

That’s it for now. Have a good rest of the week and see you on Sunday!

It’s good to have you back to my weekly blog!

It snowed here and it almost brought us to a standstill. Give us a hurricane any day, but snow????

The rewriting process has progressed quickly. I am left with the most challenging chapter to rewrite – the final chapter. What Baltimore weather would you like to see in the final outside scene – bright and sunny, lightly snowing, heavily snowing, windy, raining or what? No, I’m not going to tell you what happens, except that it happens outside. I would appreciate your input. Please put your response in the comment section below.

I promised to introduce you to the characters, so I started with a short summary describing Jesse and Megan. Over time, you’ll learn more about them.

Jesse Hamilton, 33, is six-one, dark mussed-up hair, perpetual five o’clock shadow, golden-brown eyes and, of course, a rock-hard body. He’s undercover, trying to identify the mysterious crime boss The Magician.

Megan Rogers, or little dove as Jesse calls her, 31, is five-seven with long, straight blonde hair and sapphire blue eyes. She is thin with all of the right curves. Megan is an investigative reporter who is also after The Magician.

On the home front, Bob, the long-haired stray cat I adopted, has just started going outside again. He’s chosen to guard the outside food bowl that I leave for stray cats. I had to make him come inside so the cat hiding in the tree could come eat. Who knew I’d adopt a guard cat?

Next week, how Jesse and Megan meet. . .

Welcome to my weekly blog

Welcome to my new weekly blog. I ask for patience while I figure out this blog and Google+.

For those who just started following me, I’ll give you a quick recap. I am writing my first romantic suspense novel and wrote the entire novel, Exclusive, with Jesse Montgomery as an FBI agent. After it was finished, I decided to talk with the FBI to gain more insight into an agent’s life. The only help they provided was to send me to their website. I read their Domestic Investigations and Operations Guide and learned that an undercover FBI agent could not do what I had Jesse doing.

Not wanting to stretch the truth that much, I came up with a new plan and am rewriting the novel. It’s harder than writing it was. Big lesson learned. Finish the research first.

I’m on Chapter 15 of 29 and hope to complete two chapters a day. My critics are reading the first chapters and gave me a thumbs-up for Chapters 1 through 3. They said it made you want to read more. Yeah.

Next week I’ll talk about the characters. I think you’ll like Jesse, Megan and their story.
